In February 2025, everything changed. My mom, Donna, the woman whose sparkle lit up every room — the one I grew up watching put on her makeup and jewelry like armor — was diagnosed with primary plasma cell leukemia, one of the rarest and most aggressive blood cancers. No warning. No roadmap. Just a fight we never asked for, but refused to lose.

From day one, Mom came in swinging. Even though she wasn’t a candidate for a bone marrow or stem cell transplant, she responded remarkably to Dara-KRD therapy — blowing past expectations, baffling doctors, and proving that miracles aren’t always loud. Sometimes they’re quiet, stubborn, and wearing sparkly earrings.

Her journey became my mission. I wasn’t just a daughter anymore — I became her driver, her advocate, her note-taker, her cheerleader, and her shadow. Every appointment. Every lab. Every late-night fear. Every tiny victory. And somewhere in the middle of that chaos, the idea for HoldHer Spark was born.

For a moment, it felt like we had turned a corner.

Donna responded deeply to treatment. The words “remarkable response” and “better than expected” brought real relief — proof that the fight was working. Hope crept back in. We allowed ourselves to breathe.

Then the truth of plasma cell leukemia showed itself.

This disease doesn’t move in straight lines. What looked like control revealed how aggressive and unpredictable it can be. The shift from progress to urgency came fast — bringing emotional whiplash no one warns you about. One day you’re celebrating response. The next, you’re adjusting the plan.

That pivot didn’t mean failure. It meant escalation.

CAR-T cell therapy entered the picture not as a last resort, but as the next strategic step — a targeted, advanced treatment designed to meet an aggressive disease head-on. Preparing for it has meant more testing, more clearances, and more waiting, each one carrying its own weight.

And still — Donna shows up.

Not because she isn’t afraid.

But because she is determined.

This chapter is happening in real time. It’s layered with anxiety, hope, exhaustion, and resilience — sometimes all in the same day. As her caregiver and daughter, I’ve learned that strength isn’t loud. It’s steady. It’s showing up again and again even when the ground shifts beneath you.

HoldHer Spark continues to grow inside this reality. Every piece, every detail, every intention behind this brand is rooted in lived experience — from infusion days to the emotional whiplash of changing plans.

✨️A Journey of Strength, Setbacks, and Real Progress✨️
Since January, this journey has been anything but easy—but it has been filled with resilience, determination, and unwavering strength.💖
My mom has been fighting plasma cell leukemia with everything she has. And while there have been moments of progress, there have also been real setbacks that tested all of us.
We faced complications, including elevated liver enzymes that required close monitoring and adjustments.
We went through an RSV infection that weakened her and led to a hospitalization.
There were moments where everything felt uncertain, and the path forward wasn’t clear.
She was admitted during treatment with Talvey, and from there, the focus shifted—not just to treating the disease, but to rebuilding her strength.💪
We had to recondition her body.
That meant starting from where she was and working our way back—slowly, intentionally, and consistently.
And she did the work.
Walking laps around the kitchen every day.
Fueling her body, even when she didn’t feel like eating.
Pushing through fatigue, discomfort, and fear.
At first, it was small steps.
Then it became 11 laps, three times a day, and even pushing to five rounds.
Every single day, she showed up.
Not perfectly. But consistently.
Along the way, CAR-T Cell Transplant was scheduled and then postponed—twice.
Each delay was another emotional hurdle, another moment of waiting, adjusting, and staying patient when all we wanted was to move forward.
But we kept going.
And today, we are seeing the results of that fight.
Her most recent labs show no detectable cancer burden on bloodwork and no measurable disease markers.
After everything it took to get here, this moment means more than words can explain.
This does not mean the journey is over.
But it does mean the treatment is working, the effort mattered, and the strength she rebuilt was not in vain.
Because of this progress, she is now officially scheduled for a CAR-T Cell Transplant on April 15th.
And she is walking into this next phase not just hopeful, but prepared.
Stronger.
Reconditioned.
And ready.

HoldHer Spark was created in the middle of this journey.
It was born out of real moments—hospital stays, treatment days, long nights, and the need for comfort, strength, and connection when everything feels heavy.
